Rescheduled Christmas Outing The much delayed Christmas Outing finally took place at 'The Royal Dublin Golf Club ' on Monday 17th Jan. The day itself was just about perfect for golf and the famous Links had recovered well from the snows of 2010. .As is customary on many links courses in winter, synthetic mats were in use to assist with fairway protection, and although not really impacting on the day's enjoyment, they could be conveniently offered as the readymade excuse by anybody whose score fell short of expectation. The overall winner of the outing and the Brendan McKenna Trophy was Tom Olin, while the Matchplay Champion for 2010 is Michael Collins off 2 h/cap, who defeated the gallant Tony Dooley in the final. The PRTV Society uses the Christmas Outing to say a sincere 'thank you' to its sponsors and benefactors for their continued support, and our Captain Tom McCarville and the Committee were pleased to welcome these honoured guests to the golf, and afterwards to the end of season dinner and much appreciated cabaret. Ronan Collins, Aonghus McAnally and Eddie Finlay were once again in fine musical form and entertained us into the small hours. The legendary Sean Og O'Ceallachain was there, catching up with old friends and looking the picture of good health and long may he continue to do so. We are very grateful to Royal Dublin to for granting us this refixed date and we look forward eagerly to returning to our regular December slot for yet another memorable occasion in 2011.
