Late nights no problem for Aidan
Making light of having spent the weekend at the fleadh in Sligo, Aidan Butler showed that his golf game was still in tune as he jigged his way to victory in the PRTV outing at Beech Park on Monday.
On a magnificently prepared course which had just hosted both Senior and Junior Scratch Cups, and featuring many challenging pin positions, Aidan's 38pts gave him a 4pt cushion over a chasing trio of Paul McCarthy, Peter Rea and Joe Rickard, with the latter registering a very popular first podium finish this year.
Beech Park may not be the longest stop on our annual itinery but it certainly ranks as one of the most enjoyable. The absence of any strength sapping climb is always welcome and the fast greens with subtle runoffs demand full concentration if you want to score well. We were once again blessed with the weather and we sincerely thank the Club for their customary hospitality, and of course Brian Kelly for organising another memorable day out in Rathcoole.
