All things come to those who wait
When your last overall victory is but a distant memory, winning is all the sweeter. This was certainly the case at Beech Park on Monday 10th August when Tom McGrane reminded us that while form may be temporary, class is permanent, as his 35pts proved too good for nearest challengers Aidan Butler, Pat O'Donovan and Des Long.
The weather gods were kind, with the forecasted showers holding off until everyone was safely back in the clubhouse. Although the greens were not as fast as in previous years, they were just as tricky as usual with some challenging hole locations. With our Captain Brian away on Inter Club duty helping Hollystown to reach the final of the Super Seniors, it fell to Vice-Captain Pat to officiate at the prizegiving, and he was full of praise for the hard working greenkeepers who had the entire course looking and playing so well. Also meriting special mention were the bar and catering ladies, the good people at Beeck Park for making us so welcome once again, and PRTV & Beech Park member Brian Kelly for organising yet another fantastic day in Rathcoole.
