Beech Park Win for Suzanne
At the corresponding outing last year, Jim McNelis took the main prize with 37pts. Not to be outdone, at the 2023 Beech Park outing, Suzanne showed that anything her husband could do, she could do also by strolling to victory with an even better score of 39pts. Having held the Clubhouse lead for most of the afternoon, Aidan Butler had to settle for the runner-up spot on 37pts, with Breda Murtagh a distant 3rd with 33pts.
Once again, the summery weather was conspicuous by its absence, with long sleeves and slacks the preferred uniform of the day. Nevertheless, notwithstanding a mid-round cloud burst, the weather did not impact unduly on the day's enjoyment.
As usual, the golf course was presented to a very high standard with the tricky greens running fast and true, rewarding the brave putters and punishing the timid. Once more we are indebted to Brian Kelly for organising the day, and our special thanks go to the bar and catering staff for their wonderful hospitality following the golf.
