Another 'Major' for Tom at Beech Park
Genial Tom Fleming is no stranger to the winners' enclosure at the PRTV Golf Society events, and when the outing is being held at his home course, the favourite's tag is certainly not misplaced. On Monday 30th June, new President Dave Green's Prize was down for decision at Beech Park, and to nobody's surprise, the top honours were claimed by local man and Society Vice-Captain Tom with a winning score of 37pts, while the chasing pack, led by the trio of Aidan Butler, Deirdre Healy and Michael Farrell, trailed behind on 34pts.
Although rain threatened on a few occasions, it never quite materialised so the wet weather suits remained dry in the bags, much to the delight of the large turnout. The rolling parkland that is Beech Park looked and played in perfect condition, thanks to the skills of David Callinan and his greenkeeping team, and was much appreciated by all who turned out.
We are also grateful to Pamela and the catering staff for their hospitality, and we already look forward to next year when we return to contest Tom's Captain's Prize.
