Second 'Major' for Jerry
Jordan Spieth set the golf world alight when in June he added the U.S.Open to the Masters title he had already secured in April. The PRTV had its own 'Jordan' moment at Hollystown on Monday 17th August as Jerry Hayes held of the strong challenges of Paul McCarthy and Pat O'Donovan to win his second 'major' of 2015, Brian Moran's Captain's Prize, having also taken Ian Corr's President's Prize in June.
The weather on the day could not have been better, the course was fantastic, demanding answers to serious questions at every hole, and with the variety of wildlife on the ground competing for attention with the lesser and greater spotted jet airliner overhead, it was the perfect place to be.
Captain Brian paid fitting tribute to George and his staff for a super barbeque dinner, to Michael Silke for the magnificent array of prizes on display, and to Oliver and Ciaran Barry for facilitating his Captain's Day at their wonderful North Dublin facility.
