RTE Captain wins PRTV Captain's Prize at Woodbrook
Woodbrook
Golf Club, the venue for the President's Prize for the last number
of years, was Enda McDermott's choice for the hosting of his Captain's
Day on Monday 9th June.
The course was in splendid condition, and with very little wind and
no rain, conditions were pretty conducive to good scoring, and so
it proved. Brian Moran, the current Captain of the RTE Golf Society,
showed his golfing pedigree by returning a score of 40pts to take
top spot in the PRTV Captain's Prize, 2pts better than the gallant
runner-up, Pat Malone.
Best in the 'Visitors' category was Eoin O'Connor playing off 8 with
a very tasty 39pts, while Niall Barry was a distant 2nd back on 33pts.
After a delicious meal, Captain Enda complimented the catering team
on behalf of the Society and welcomed all members and guests, including
newly elected President Dave Green. There was also a moment of reflection
on the great loss to the PRTV Society with the recent passing of our
former President Ian Corr.
Our association with Woodbrook
Golf Club stretches back many years, with every visit to this historic
venue eagerly anticipated, and we look forward to many more happy
occasions by the Irish Sea.
