Susan is the Supremo at Woodbrook

For the second year in a row, the Press Radio and TV Golf Society Captain's Day was held at Woodbrook G.C. and on a course befitting the occasion, Susan O'Donoghue reigned supreme to win Tom Fleming's prize with 33pts, one better than local member Conor Roche on 32pts, with Elaine Healy and Denis Foley next best on 31pts. The best return of the day was the 34pts, returned by Cathal Loftus playing off 10 in the Visitors category.
The golf course was in excellent playing order, while the calm and sunny weather conditions promised a feast of low scoring, but a glance through the results will reveal a somewhat different outcome. With slick putting surfaces and some astute hole locations, positive play on the greens was essential, but as we know only too well, that is easier said than done and so it proved.
Following the golf, members and guests enjoyed a tasty meal in the relaxed atmosphere of the clubhouse, during which Captain Tom said how happy he was to have his Captain's Day at Woodbrook in their Centenary year and thanked the Club for their continued support of the PRTV Society.
With the venue set to host the inagural East of Ireland Amateur Open Women's Championship at the weekend, as well as the 'R&A' Men's and Women's Home Internationals in August, the Club's Centenary Year promises to be yet another memorable milestone in it's illustrious history, and we wish them every success with these and future events.
