John Foley wins at Delgany
A gap of 38 years was bridged on Monday 27th May when John Foley won the Stanley Bergin Memorial Trophy for the second time, having previously put his name on the cup in 1975.
A cool and wet morning cleared to provide pleasant golfing conditions for the most part, and some groups actually reached the sanctuary of the clubhouse before the onset of some thundery outbursts in the late afternoon. The course itself was in superb condition and the hole locations on some greens asked serious questions of us all, while the scores returned suggest that quite a few didn't find the right answers. Full marks however to John, for his very solid 38pts, to Pat Bernard & Peter Kennedy for their 35s, and to Anne Marie Kearney, striking a blow for the ladies with an excellent 34pts to win Class 2.

Delgany holds a special place in the hearts of the Press Radio
& TV Society and we thank the Club for having us back year after year for this special outing in memory of one of our founding members. The Society is delighted to announce 3 new members to the ranks. Peter Dunne, Fergus Graham & Ray Maguire are indeed very welcome and Peter has wasted no time in making his way into the winners' enclosure. We trust it will not take Fergus and Ray too long to follow suit and that all 3 will enjoy a long and happy association with the PRTV.
