European Club Triumph for Ronan

Ronan Collins, just edged out of 1st place at last year's outing, ensured no repeat in 2024 as his 37pts claimed the Lakelands Trophy by a whopping 9 point margin from John Foley and Ger Coughlan at a predominantly sunny European Club on Tuesday 28th May.
A brief solitary rain shower did not dampen players' enthusiasm for this testing but delightful links, and although scoring for the majority proved somewhat difficult, it is always a pleasure to play Pat Ruddy's wonderful golf course regardless of the results.
The greenkeepers deserve praise for having the Links in excellent playing condition and we are again indebted to the Ruddy family for their continued hospitality and warm welcome for the Press Radio and TV Society.
The catering staff are to be commended for their efforts both before and after the golf, and we look forward to our return visit in 2025.
