Charity Day @ Forrest Little
Monday 25th Sept. and the sun is up from early
morning, burning away any overnight fog.
A great day for golfers to be up and out early also, especially when
they are taking part
in the Press Radio and TV annual Charity Day at Forrest Little Golf
Club.
Yet again, the short sleeved shirt is the uniform of choice, and with
just a gentle breeze to keep everyone awake, conditions are just about
perfect for another enjoyable golfing day. Little wonder then to see
19 teams battling it out for first pick of the Vouchers, and with
3 scores counting on the 18th this year, concentration would be required
from 1st to last hole. When all cards had been returned, checked and
double checked, Michael Farrell's team including Matt Kavanagh, (Grange),
Pat Foley (Beech Park) and 'The Brudder' Jim Farrell (Lisheen Springs),
was declared the winner with 88pts. Running a distant second with
84pts were a quartet of teams led by Paddy Higgins, Derek Richards,
Sean Keating and Tony Molloy respectively. Another 8 teams also featured
in the prize winners list
Although the greens were somewhat slower on the stimp than in previous
visits, the course was in excellent playing condition, thus contributing
to the overall enjoyment, and we are indebted once again to the good
folk at Forrest Little for hosting this always eagerly
awaited event. Full marks to all PRTV members who organised the prize
vouchers
and many thanks to the Golf Clubs who donated them. Also deserving
of praise are the
hard working catering staff for the apres golf fortification of the
inner man (and woman).
The designated charity will be revealed before the AGM in February
2018.
