Aidan is streets ahead at Greystones

The first 'Christmas' outing of the year was held at Greystones on Monday 14th Oct. and while most players were 'hampered' by the frightfully fast greens, Aidan Butler showed no such fear to comfortably win the hamper with a superb score of 34pts. He had 4pts to spare over nearest rivals Paddy O'Connor and Denis Foley as everyone was left to marvel at the magnificent condition of the course.
The greenkeepers are to be commended for their expertise, as it is a long time since we have played on surfaces as well presented so late in the year, and we congratulate them for their efforts.
As usual, we were well 'catered for' afterwards in the Clubhouse and we sincerely thank Greystones for having the Society back once again.
Our Captain John is recovering well following his recent illness. We all wish him all the best for a speedy return to action and hope to see him striding the fairways at The European Club in November.
Today's prizes will be presented during the Christmas dinner at Royal Dublin.
