Another PGA Tankard for Derek

Why would 33pts be sufficient to win a PGA Tankard Outing at Hermitage ?
Because the wind was up and the magnificent greens were running about 12 on the stimp.
Local member Pat O'Donovan, playing off 6, overwhelmed the front 9 but could not sustain the momentum over the closing holes and although Pat matched the best score of the day, Derek Richards won this year's tankard and the right to represent the PRTV Society at the Master Tankard Outing by virtue of his better inward half. This is not the first time for Derek to win this coveted award and in the absence of our Captain Tom, Paul McCarthy presented the prize and wished Derek every success at the Master Tankard, a sentiment echoed by everyone present.
Despite all the foul weather, Hermitage is in super condition right now and the greenkeepers are to be congratulated for all their hard work. The Society has a long and memorable association with this great Club. We thank them for their continued hospitality and we look forward to returning again next year for more fun & games.
