No mistake this time for Pat
Having missed out last year by a single point, Pat Courtney made just amends at Hermitage on Monday 20th July when his great score of 36pts was more than enough to comfortably see off the challenges of Eddie Hearns (33pts) and Shay Smith (32pts) to secure his first PGA Tankard, and the right to represent the PRTV Society at this year's Master Tankard later in the year. As usual, the golf course was in fantastic playing order while the greens were a joy to behold (although not to have to putt on from any distance judging by the majority of scores returned).
A day of almost perfect golfing weather was tinged with sadness following the recent sudden passing of long standing Society member Gerry Carty, who was fondly remembered during the prizegiving. We are grateful once again to Hermitage for their hospitality, to the greenkeepers for their presentation of the course, and to the bar and catering staff for serving us with a smile following the golf.
