Peter wins PGA Tankard
As you drive into Hermitage Golf Club you will notice a sign which tells you you are about to play at the best parkland course in the Leinster region so it helps when you have brought your 'A'game. Just as in 2013, the day was a scorcher, resulting in umbrellas being used to keep the sun's rays at bay. However, nobody could keep the Rea who is currently master of the 'A' game at bay, and a solid return of 34pts was sufficient to secure the coveted PGA Tankard for Peter. Chasing him all the way was the trio of Aidan Butler, Jerry Hayes and Eddie Hearns but neither could find the extra point to trigger a countback. Peter will prove a worthy representative at the Master Tankard outing later in the year.
The course certainly deserves the accolade of No.1 in Leinster and we are grateful for our long association with the Club and their hospitality. Thanks also to the greenkeepers and bar/catering staff for continuing to make this outing one not to be missed.
