Jerry's PGA Tankard at last
A look back through the archives shows that some things never seem to change for the Press Radio and TV PGA Tankard outing to Hermitage. Firstly the weather is fine, and secondly Jerry Hayes always contends for top spot. So it proved once more on Monday 17th July when temperatures soared into the high 20s and Jerry, following some near misses, finally got his hands on the Tankard by edging out a gallant Eddie Doyle on a countback when both had returned scores of 37pts. Vice Captain Myles Cronan trailed in 3rd, 3 points adrift of the leaders.
With greens worthy of the European Tour, Hermitage is a joy to play and has deservedly been voted the No.1 parkland course in Leinster on a few occasions. Our long association with the Golf Club therefore is all the more treasured and we look forward to many happy return visits in the coming years.
