Michael is first winner of Tom McGrane Trophy
To honour the memory of our dear friend Tom McGrane, the Press Radio & TV Society annual outing to Hermitage will henceforth be host to the Tom McGrane Memorial, and on Monday 15th July, Tom's wife Mary, our honoured guest, was on hand to present the trophy to inaugural winner Michael Collins.
Blessed with magnificent weather, the course looked immaculate, with scoring commensurate with the occasion, and it was no surprise to see the victor return 40pts, 3 ahead of Barney Keville and Des Long, with Dave Green and John Keane a further point adrift.
Following the wonderful meal, President Ian Corr delivered a fitting tribute to Tom, while also reflecting on the shock of the news of the sudden passing of another PRTV stalwart and current President of the RTE Golf Society, Peter Rea. May he rest in peace.
