Tom McGrane Trophy and a Hole-in-One
It is now 5 years since Tom McGrane sadly passed away, but his memory is alive and well in the Press Radio and TV Golf Society.
On Monday 17th July, the now annual memorial outing in his honour was keenly contested at Hermitage, where Myles Cronan squeezed home by the narrowest of margins to claim the trophy with 37pts, with Eddie Hearns a gallant runner-up on 36pts.
Myles had further cause for celebration as his expertly struck 5 wood tee shot at the long Par 3 7th hole finished at the bottom of the cup, the decisive factor in setting up the victory.
Hermitage was in superb condition, with lush well manicured fairways and perfect greens. Our thanks go to everyone at the Club for their warm welcome and continued hospitality, especially the bar and catering staff, while not forgetting Pat O'Donovan, fresh from his own recent triumph in the Hermitage Captain's Prize, for all his efforts in keeping this outing on the calendar.

Don't forget our Away outing to Mullingar on Monday 14th Aug.
