New
Golfing Year - New Starting Venue
The Press Radio and TV Golf Society kick started
its programme for 2019 at Howth Golf Club on Monday 11th March. Despite
overnight frost, and lying snow visible on the distant mountains,
the day brought perfect conditions for the 23 starters, and a fun
time for all over the 16 holes played. The course was in very good
early season order and local member Eamonn Brennan saw off all challengers
with a fine score of 32pts, four ahead of the chasing pack.
At the AGM which followed, Captain Myles Cronan thanked the members
for their support throughout his year of office, before introducing
Eddie Hearns as the new incumbent. Hon.Secretary Paul McCarthy unveiled
the calendar for the year which shows a new addition (St.Margaret's
on May20th), while the 'away' trip to Mullingar is confirmed for Sept.9th.
The single vacancy on the Committee was filled by the election of
Brian Kelly and Barney Keville was announced as Vice Captain. There
were no motions for discussion.
The competitive season will commence at The Portmarnock Hotel and
Golf Links
on Monday 25th March, teeing off from 11 to 12.40.
