Losing shots no handicap to Peter
Having lost 3 shots following President's Day, Peter Kennedy had a readymade reason to have an off day at the PRTV outing to Lisheen Springs on Monday 29th August.
However, the h/cap reduction only acted as the perfect spur as Peter repeated his feat of 2012 by winning overall with 33pts, finishing 2 pts clear of his nearest challengers Charlie Doran, John Foley, Des Long, Niall Matthews and local Club man Tom McGrane. Once again, the Captain's influence with the weather gods proved useful. Temperatures up to 20 degrees, coupled with long spells of sunshine, made for an extremely pleasant golfing day, while a freshening breeze teamed with punishing rough to ensure no Society member broke par. Nevertheless, an enjoyable day was had by all, and the famous quote "Golf is a good walk spoiled" would certainly be misplaced if attributed to our leisurely stroll thru the verdant landscape that is Lisheen Springs Golf Club. Great credit is due to the Kavanagh family and their hardworking team for having the course in such good playing condition and we thank them for having us back once more, not forgetting the catering staff for looking after us so well both before and after the golf.
We will definitely be returning for more next year.
