Autumnal
Win for Pat at Lisheen Springs
According to the author Stanley Horowitz,
'Winter is an etching, Spring a watercolour,
Summer an oil painting, and Autumn a mosaic of them all. At the Press
Radio and TV outing to Lisheen Springs on Monday 22nd October, you
would certainly have to agree with those sentiments. Following a short
delay to allow the early morning frost to dissipate, over 30 golfers
made the most of the resulting sunny afternoon, none more so than
Pat Malone, whose 34pts secured the overall win, one ahead of Denis
Foley and Peter Dunne.
Autumn is a great time for golf and Lisheen Springs is the ideal place
to play it. The
course was in splendid condition and has recovered well from the summer
drought, testimony indeed to the hard work of the greenkeepers. We
are grateful to Richard Kavanagh and his team for looking after us
so well, with a special mention to Vivienne and Cheryl for the delicious
food in the clubhouse following the golf.
