Another First Time winner at Lisheen Springs
In recent years, it has become fashionable for new members to register their first win with the Press Radio and TV Society at Lisheen Springs. This trend continued on Tuesday 8th November when Niall Kerney showed everyone the way home as he took the overall award with a magnificent 38pts, 6 ahead of his nearest challenger Michael Farrell.
Following a short scare before tee-off, the day unfolded into a pleasant one for golf, and with the course in great playing order despite all the recent rain, it was a pleasure to take advantage of the dry conditions and true putting surfaces. Full marks to the hardworking greenkeepers for all their endeavours.
Special words of appreciation go to Julie and the catering staff for looking after us before and after the golf, and for keeping the kitchen open to facilitate our late finish.
With just one outing left to play, this year's Golfer of the Year is Elaine Healy, as her points total cannot be beaten, so congratulations Elaine on consistently good golf throughout the year.
The season finale is the Brendan McKenna Memorial & Christmas outing at The Royal Dublin G.C.on Monday 12th December.
