We're off and running at last.
Tuesday 29th June saw the return of the Press Radio & TV Golf
Society to competitive action, with warm sunshine to welcome the players
back onto the fairways.
St.Margarets was the venue with an enthusiastic group, including a
few new recruits, present for the much awaited occasion.
Since our last outing, many of the members' h/caps have changed drastically,
due to the introducion of the long awaited World Handicapping System,
which will henceforth be used. We therefore ask that prior to each
outing, check your current Handicap Index (HI) on the Golf Ireland
website - https://www.golfireland.ie/my-golf-login so that the correct
playing h/cap is applied for your round.
As for Tuesday's results, top spot went to Brian Moran, flying high
with a score to match the weather, a scorching 47pts off a HI of 31.
Next best at a somewhat lower altitude were Pat Malone with 41pts
(HI 26.9) and new boy Des Moffat with 40pts (HI 16).
St.Margarets looked in super condition, which was undoubtly reflected
in the scoring, and we sincerely thank everyone associated with the
Club for their hospitality both on and off the course.
There is barely time to catch your breath before the next outing on
Monday next, 5th July.

A Message
from our Captain, Anne Marie
Dear Members,
It’s an honour to have been asked to be Captain of the PRTV,
a fantastic group of people with a tradition of playing great courses.
Hopefully we can all say hello soon and get to play golf together
again. We miss those who are no longer with us, and especially remember
Tommy Olin, and our sympathy is with those members who have lost family
and friends during the last year.
I am delighted that Michael Dunphy has agreed to be Vice-Captain,
and, with his experience at club level and his enthusiasm, he will
be of great benefit to the society.
Our Secretary Paul and the committee have put together a great calendar,
so here’s hoping we can enjoy many outings in the year ahead.
The committee will keep you informed via the website of any changes
as we go along.
Meantime fingers crossed, practice the putting and stay safe.
Best wishes and regards,
Anne Marie.
