Is it always raining in Mullingar ?
Mullingar Golf Club was again the venue of choice for the PRTV Society Annual Away Trip, and despite the sustained period of dry weather in the lead up, Monday 2nd September will not be remembered as the driest day in the midlands. Nevertheless, 24 players braved the elements and were rewarded with a very enjoyable saunter around this magnificent facility as the day brightened towards evening. The clinging rough ensured that being on the fairway would yield the greatest bounty and so it proved. A very well constructed 34pts saw Aidan Butler win the day, ahead of the Skerries duo of Fran Costello and Club Captain Peter Lamont. Following the golf, dinner was enjoyed in the Clubhouse before we all adjourned to nearby Bloonfield House Hotel for a night of revelry.
Our sincere thanks go to everyone at Mullingar Golf Club and Bloomfield House for looking after us so well and we are already looking forward to our return in 2020.
