Newlands wind tests PRTV resolve
The venue for our latest outing on April 29th has been evolving since 1910 and now boasts an array of inbuilt defences to rival those found anywhere. The Press Radio & TV Society comprises many experienced golfers across all handicap ranges but nevertheless, every player found scoring difficult when windy conditions joined forces with the tree-lined fairways and smooth putting surfaces.

The course was in great condition and a pleasure to play, so it was somewhat surprising that only a handful of players managed to reach the magic 30pts. Best of the bunch was Mick Daly, whose 33pts was enough for the overall win. Mick was closely followed by Eddie Hearns & Michael Farrell on 31pts with Vice-Captain Paddy Higgins and Jerry Hayes a further point adrift.
Full marks to the greenkeepers for the course presentation, and also to the bar and catering staff for the post round
hospitality.
Captain John O'Sullivan announced that Sept.2nd has been confirmed for the overnight trip to Mullingar and booking will open at our next outing on May 13th.
