John on top at Newlands
The mini heatwave of recent days has been welcomed in many quarters. Householders can finally turn down their thermostats, greenkeepers can begin to showcase their courses, and hibernating wildlife can awake from their annual slumbers to start their year.
On Monday 23rd April at Newlands, some members of the PRTV Society decided the time was right to emerge from their golfing hibernation and take to the fairways once more. For John Keane, this proved to be a wise move, as he made light of the blustery conditions and slick greens to accumulate a creditable 35pts and secure top spot by a single point from Brendan O'Farrell, with Pat O'Donovan a further point behind.
It is always a joy to play Newlands and, as with our previous visits, the course did not disappoint. We are grateful to Newlands Golf Club for having us back again and extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved for their hospitality. The 2019 outing is no doubt pencilled in already.
