Portmarnock victory for Eddie

The PRTV Society competitive season kicked off in style on Monday 14th March at the world renowned Portmarnock Golf Club. Although the sun was our companion for the entire day, the cool easterly breeze was a constant reminder that it is still early Spring, but Eddie Hearns needed no reminder to spring early, romping to victory by a 4 point margin over Paul McCarthy.
With the back 9 of the Championship course closed for works, we got to pit our wits against the lesser known but equally demanding 'Yellow' 9, which along with the rest of the course, was in excellent condition for the time of year. 2016 Captain, Pat Courtney, wished everyone well for the coming year and welcomed new member Niall Matthews to the Society.
We are delighted to have Portmarnock on our annual calendar and look forward to returning for many years to come. Many thanks to the bar and catering staff for looking after us so well after the golf and to the starter for getting us all away on time.
