Peter takes honours at Rathcore
It is said that the secret of good golf is to hit the ball hard, straight and not too often, and Peter Rae effectively combined all three to win the overall prize at Rathcore on Monday 8th April.
The weather gods favoured us with a dry bright day, and the afternoon start ensured that any lingering frost had long disappeared when our first group teed off. The PRTV Society has enjoyed the hospitality of the Lyons family for the past number of years, and this now annual early April trip to the Royal county is eagerly awaited. The course in the rolling countryside is full of variety, very well presented and a joy to play, and when Mark Twain said that 'Golf was a good walk spoiled', he evidently hadn't been to Rathcore. For members unable to take part on Monday, the good news is that Rathcore are staging a Seniors OPEN event every Thursday with entry fees of just €12.50, so ring the Club to book your tee time. You won't be disappointed.
