Pat is the Master at rainy Rathcore
Unlike previous post Masters outings to this great venue, Monday April 11th was not really the ideal day to play golf. Although dry at first, the gloomy skies eventually gave way to a steady downpour, forcing the fair weather players to seek the welcome shelter of the Clubhouse prematurely, while the more intrepid golfers held true to that old Mastermind phrase -
"I've started so I'll finish'.
When the last drops of rain had been wrung from the scorecards, Pat Malone was declared the worthy overall winner. His 34pts, very creditable given the day's playing conditions, were enough to relegate Charlie Doran to the runner-up position, but only by a single point.
Full marks to everyone who completed the 18 holes, to Rathcore Golf Club for having the PRTV Society back again, to the greenkeepers for presenting the course in such great condition, and last but certainly not least, the catering staff for making us feel so welcome. We'll be back next year but if you cannot wait that long, keep an eye on the Open Fixtures list, as Rathcore is well worth a visit, irrespective of the weather.

The Press Radio and TV Society extends sympathy to our Hon. Secretary Paul McCarthy following the recent passing of his sister.
May she Rest in Peace.
