Brendan McKenna Memorial for Jim
Having had to postpone the scheduled pre-Christmas outing due to the inclement weather, the Press Radio and TV Golf Society managed to bring closure to the 2022 season on Monday 23rd January 2023 in near perfect golfing conditions.
The Brendan McKenna Memorial Trophy was the only event to be contested, as the winners of both Golfer of the Year and Matchplay competitions were already decided.
New names will appear on all 3 trophies following Jim Carraher's win on Monday, Brian Moran's 20th hole Matchplay victory over Marian Judge at St.Margarets, while new member Elaine Healy left everyone else in her slipstream in taking the GOY honours.
Following a fantastic meal, Aonghus, Eddie and Ronan provided great music, songs and stories as usual, with welcome support from Celly and Paul, and old favourite Dave Green, up and about again following his recent indisposition.
Captain Michael expressed heartfelt thanks to The Royal Dublin G.C. for their continued hospitality and Royal Dublin and Society member Enda replied on behalf of the host Club.
All too soon it was time to go after a most enjoyable evening, but the countdown to our return at year's end has already started.
