Weather wins out at Skerries
(Outing refixed for Monday 8th October)

The move to a later than usual starting time for Skerries did not prove kind on Monday 18th June as torrential rain, accompanied by hailstones and thunder, forced all but the early starters and the foolhardy to abandon the golf and run for the shelter of the welcoming Clubhouse.
With almost half of those playing unable to complete their rounds, the Committee wisely decided not to declare any results but instead to approach the Golf Club and ask for another date for the outing.
The photo above shows the flood on the 18th green at the height of the deluge, but a second photo taken 20 minutes later illustrates the quality of the drainage.
Skerries is a great place to play golf and has featured on the PRTV Society calendar for many years. We were just unfortunate to encounter the cloudburst when we did and we look forward to returning to complete the job hopefully before long.

Next Outing: Woodbrook
