Pat Masters Skerries
The Masters is over for another year, and while Rory ponders what went wrong, there is no need for similar reflection from our Pat O'Donovan. No doubt inspired by the efforts of Jordan, Rickie and Patrick the evening before, his 'masterclass' round of 41pts on Monday 9th April at Skerries saw him romp to a comfortable 4pt. victory ahead of new man Tom Fleming, with former Skerries winner Eugene Murray a further 2 pts adrift.
The period of heavy rain in the previous week had jeopardised the outing but thankfully the course handled it admirably and, coupled with the nice Spring sunshine, was a joy to play as usual.
Officiating at his 1st outing as Captain, Myles Cronan had special words of welcome for our 5 new members and sincere thanks to everyone who played, the greenkeeping staff, the hard working caterers, and Skerries Golf Club for their continued hospitality.
