Tom Opens 2023 With Skerries Win
On Monday 20th March, the Press Radio and TV Society made a welcome return to Skerries, where Tom Fleming showed that his golf game has wintered well as he emerged in top spot with a super score of 37pts, leaving nearest challenger Michael Farrell to rue the 3-putt on the final green which ultimately cost him victory.
Thankfully, the higher temperatures forecast did materialise, and with the rain on hold, a pleasant golfing day ensued.
Although winter rules were still in play, the course was still in very good condition and as always, a joyful experience, so full marks to the greenkeepers and all concerned.
Captain Denis Foley was on hand to take charge of the prizegiving and was full of praise for the hospitality we always receive at Skerries G.C. with special mentions for the hard working caterer who made sure we were well fed and watered, and Paul McCarthy for including this popular venue on our 2023 calendar.
