Rita proves best at Skerries
Having previously featured as one of the earlier outings on the Press Radio and TV Society calendar, a switch to a later date proved just what was required for Rita Staunton to take top spot with 35pts, one better than last year's winner Tom Fleming, and two ahead of Aidan Butler and Brian Moran.
Skerries is a delightful golf course, a joy to play at any time but more so on a fine sunny day, as was the case on Monday 9th September, and those who made their way to north Co. Dublin were rewarded with a well presented challenge in pleasant surroundings.
Captain John outlined our thanks to the hard working greenkeepers for presenting the course in such great playing condition, and the catering and bar personnel who looked after us so well following the golf, not forgetting Paul McCarthy for his efforts in organising this very enjoyable day.
