Myles on Top at Skerries
Whether it is harvesting lost golf balls over at Howth and its environs, or collecting prizes at the PRTV Golf Society outings, Myles Cronan is adept at both. On Monday 1st September, Myles added to his already impressive prize haul by taking top spot at Skerries with 37pts, one ahead of gallant runner-up, Aidan Butler. The exact number of golf balls he found was not revealed.
Although rain threatened a few times, thankfully it never materialised and another pleasant day's golfing in north County Dublin ensued, to the delight of all in attendance. The golf course was in splendid condition and a joy to play, thanks to the hard working greenkeeping staff, and as Captain Enda was otherwise engaged, it fell to Vice Captain Tom to officiate at the prizegiving, and to express our gratitude to Skerries G.C. for facilitating us once again, with special praise for the catering staff for their efficient and friendly service. Many thanks also to Paul for all his efforts in keeping this venue on the Society's calendar.
The next outing is our annual Charity Day at Forrest Little on Monday 22nd September. The format is a 4-person team stableford event with 2 scores to count on each hole, and members are asked to populate their teams with as many visitors as possible.
As is customary, the prize fund will consist of 4-ball vouchers from Members' Clubs, so if you could ask your Club to donate one, it will be very much appreciated.
