Anne shows the way at Co.Meath
Following a welcome dry spell, the weather gods decided it was time for a change, so they chose Monday 9th May, the day of the Press Radio and TV Society outing to Co.Meath. Nevertheless, a good sized field assembled to contest the Stanley Bergin Trophy and a sparkling day's golf over the rolling parkland of the Royal County ensued despite the cloudy skies.
It was perhaps only fitting that a royal performance was required for victory and new member Anne Hackett did not disappoint, making light of the showers with a super score of 40pts, 3 better than nearest challenger Elaine Healy.
The course as usual was in great playing condition and a credit to the greenkeepers. We are grateful to the good people of the Co. Meath Golf Club for their continued hospitality, and we look forward to returning again next year. If you can't wait that long, give yourself a treat and drop over for a game. You will be glad you did.
