No need for countback this time
The annual PRTV outing to Woodbrook usually produces some tight finishes and so it proved again this year when Derek Richards from the neighbouring Old Conna Club took top spot with a superb 41pts, thus consigning Pat Malone (39pts) and Pat Courtney (38pts) to the runners-up positions. It was sweet revenge for Derek because in 2011, he finished on the wrong side of a countback having equalled the winning score.
Heatwave conditions were the order of the day, but a welcome breeze from Killiney Bay ensured pleasant but testing golfing conditions, and with the course in superb condition, you could not wish to be anywhere else. Our relationship with Woodbrook stretches back for decades and we are privileged to play here, following in the footsteps of so many great champions of yesteryear.
