Pat's Form Returns at Woodbrook
The first 'Major' of the PRTV season took place at Woodbrook
Golf Club on Mon. 13th June, where a countback was used to decide the winner after a 3-way tie at the top on 38pts.
Pat Malone is no stranger to the winning podium, but by his standards, he has been somewhat quiet of late. It is said that class is permanent and so it proved, as by channeling his inner Rory, Pat rose to the challenge to win Ian Corr's President's Prize ahead of both Anne Hackett and Rita Staunton, by virtue of the best inward half.
It was great to be back at Woodbrook once again post covid, and a joy to find the course had lost none of its appeal. The greens were in superb condition and called for the utmost respect, rewarding the positive approach while leaving the hesitant putter with plenty of food for thought.
Speaking of food, the catering was of the highest order and our thanks go to the bar and catering staff for looking after us so well.
In his afterdinner President's address, Ian welcomed everyone, with a special mention for all our new members and invited guests, and reflected on the PRTV Society's long and pleasurable association with Woodbrook, expressing our thanks for the warm welcome and generous hospitality we have always received, and hoping this will continue for the future.
And so say all of us.
