President wins President's Prize at Woodbrook
A mere 2pts separated the top 3 players
after the keenly contested 2024 President's Prize outing to Woodbrook
on Monday 10th June.
Emerging victorious was John Culloty, the current President of the
RTE Golf Society, on 38pts, with Brian Moran a gallant runner-up with
37pts and a posse of 5 players all tied for 3rd place on 36pts. Our
Captain John Foley proved best on this occasion, taking this prize
by virtue of the best last 3.
The day was rather blustery with lower than normal temperatures for
the time of year, but thankfully it remained dry throughout.
As usual, the Woodbrook course was presented in perfect playing condition
and as always, was a pleasure to play. Our thanks go to the greenkeepers
for all their hard work, and also to the bar and catering staff for
looking after us so well both before and after the golf.
2024 is another landmark year for the Press Radio and TV Golf Society
as
we celebrate our Diamond Jubilee, and it was fitting that some of
our esteemed former Captains (Dave Green, Paddy Higgins, Brendan O'Farrell,
Joe Sheridan and Seamus Smith) were in attendance as President Ian
relived some of the standout moments of the past 60 years in his post
prandial address. We are grateful to Woodbrook G.C. for hosting our
President's Day once more, and we look forward to returning to this
delightful facility many times in the years to come.
